Prabu Mohandas is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerala, India. He has more than 12 years of experience in teaching and research.

His areas of research include Image Processing, Cryptography & Network Security and Machine Learning. In recent years, he has focused his investigations on Elephant Movement Pattern Prediction using Machine Learning, Plant Leaf Diseases Identification using Image Processing via Deep Learning and Sensor based Cow Health Monitoring Systems. He has collaborated with the researchers across the globe to predict the traffic density especially in the development of Vehicle-to-vehicle Communication System in order to avoid the road accidents.

Besides successful completion of two funding projects sponsored by DST and UGG, he is currently executing three projects from DST, SERB and ICSSR (funding agencies of Govt. of India). He has published several papers in his areas of interest in reputed and refereed international SCI indexed journals and in national and international conferences. Currently he is offering courses on Database Management Systems, Advanced Computer Networks for UG and PG programmes.
